Ode to Summer splash!

Let the good books roll as you are abt to jump in the summer splash and fun. Imagine you are under a tall palm tree,on a pristine yellow sand of a deserted beach, sipping that deep, scintillating, flavorful sangria or the mint mojito as you relax laying on the hammock and the gentle island breeze soothes the inner soul....the calming sound of the ocean washes onto the shore while the seagulls fly above the waves under the clear blue sky.........

wake up everybody, it sounds too utopic doesn't it? at least for me.....;)
What can I say, like in Denver's song 'Sunshine almost always makes me high'

here are some of my fav. random picks of the summer zest!

You guys enjoy every bit of the season as I start my vacation soon and wont be here for a while!
Be good!

Thanks to my two special DA friends
Maria :iconcozycomfycouch: and
Karen :iconkaren5258:

Yesterday was a day when I felt like I can use the expression being 'over the moon'. It may appear a simple reason to feel that way but to me it was very special.
The two individuals who I mention above made it happen for me. I am ever so grateful to them and dont have the right words to thank them enough for their generosity, kindness and support. I am overwhelmed!
Loads of thanks to Maria and Karen and along with that all my DA watchers and pals for the support you have shown me over the past year!

I will be gone for few wks during the summer but hoping to come back with pictures and maybe some paintings if i get the time for ART on my vacation. I maynot be able to respond to your posts for sometime but will try my best to log on at least once a wk.
Wishing you all a shiny wknd and a zestful summer season! Will miss you when I am gone!

Here are some of Maria and Karen's work that I like. Please take your time to walk through their art. They are passionate abt their works and deserve the very BEST!

Sizzling summer and the triple digit weather triggers a relaxed lifestyle transcending the trends in newly designed bathing suits, wraps, shorts, T-shirts, and more. I talk about outfits cos thats the fun of having the summer season, being relaxed and look summery! :) getting drenched with the garden hose after a long hot day of summer fun and frolic.

Not too long back it was such a warm sunday morning when I had the chance to take a nice walk in and around Harvard Square. As I got off the T (the underground train) I was wrapped in the ambience of it all. 10 yrs later it looked the same way. The construction area, that COOP bookstore, the quaint coffee places and the intellectuals walking in and out of the Harvard library, the boutique stores with quaint clothing and handmade jewellery. I lazed around sitting on the stone benches listening to some latin american tunes on the flute, then again, some streetside musician playing the guitar and humming a tune along. It was all very soothing. I enjoyed the warm sunshine streaming down and the cool breeze blowing making it a perfect day outdoors. I was getting to fall asleep, it was so relaxing.
I gathered myself up and walked two steps up to find Larry Burdick's chocolate store. Couldn't resist my inner desires to get a dark hot chocolate. Dont know why I was tempted to order a hot drink along with a Burdick's chocolate cake slice. It was all so good and smooth, melted in my mouth. I felt energetic once again and walked inside the Harvard campus to sit and relax by the shade of a tall tree reminiscing my day spent doing nothing important but gave me sheer joy and happiness. A day all to myself is what gives me ample pleasure.

The cherry blossom festival is what I mean. The essence of the festival is to nurture the friendship and ties between the two countries, Japan and the United States. Thanks to Japan for gifting us with some 3700 cherry trees along and around the tidal basin.
We enjoy the splendid beauty of the eye catching blossom while taking a gentle stress free walk along the river. The Jesfferson memorial stands tall amidst the hurly-burly of all the noisy activities. Its time to enjoy the taste of the blossom inspired creations and soak in the dance, music and food more than only just enjoying a showcase of beautiful flowering trees. The interesting fact is that each year the visitors out number the cherry trees :)

The mind is refreshed with the beautiful burst of color and grandeur. The never ending satisfaction only drenches the soul with utter content and delight emphasizing the abundance of mother nature.
It was sheer bliss experiencing the spectacular beauty over the weeknd!

Reminds me of Denver's 'Annies Song' dont know why, call me crazy! This song explains my inner feelings that was going thru my mind then during the exhilarating trip to the tidal basin.
